With the development of society requirements, people are demanding higher and higher quality in online videos. Different types of live video have never stopped exploring and innovating for different forms of transmission and different modes.

NDI adopts digital high-definition Ethernet transmission technology. Compared with coaxial or fiber transmission, the NDI protocol will have more advantages, more stability, and stronger anti-interference ability.  At the same time, it can realize real-time two-way audio, two-way control signal transmission except transmitting SDI HDMI video.

NDI is open source, and NDI technology is the foundation of advanced IP workflow. Anyone can enable systems and devices to connect and communicate over NDI IP networks with shared access to video, audio, and data. NDI is set to lead a new content production workflow to make video production more easily and reliable.

When the multi-camera program of the TV station is produced, the camera and the production center need to be connected by an SDI video cable. NDI is a signal transmission protocol based on local area network. It has the characteristics of low latency, accurate frame video, mutual recognition and communication of data stream. The devices in the local network can receive multiple NDI signals through IP network to replace the SDI video coax cable or SDI fiber gear.

NDI can realize multi-channel transmission. Each signal source can be used as the target of multiple receivers, and the NDI data stream of any device can also be interconnected, which greatly increases the number of signal sources used for live production switching.

Traditional encoder requires inputting the IP address and then decoding the IP address to gain video. NDI is automatic to discover. As long as the front end is connected to the NDI device, the back end automatically receives the device data. NDI transmits audio and video signals through the network, and can flexibly obtain any signal input and output. NDI provides the flexibility to choose from a wider variety of video input sources
